You can say a lot of things about the Washington Capitals, but you can’t say they don’t have dedicated fans. But just how dedicated are they? Well, after one fan was nailed in the head with a puck at Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers, she refused stitches for a bit so that she could watch the team win in overtime. That’s dedication.

As first reported by Yahoo Sports, Tricia Drummond was seated near the glass by the Flyers’ bench when a loose puck came flying and hit her square in the forehead, knocking her unconscious. When she came to, she had a nasty gash on her forehead that EMS workers at Verizon Center determined she needed stitches for. But, while being treated, she heard Alex Ovechkin tie the game at the last minute and told EMS that she’ll “get stitches later.”

She then returned to her seat to finish watching the game. (They won in overtime, by the way).

Afterwards she went to George Washington University Medical Center where she got five stitches. “Every time you go to a live game, every time you go to an event, you feel closer. The team becomes almost personal,” Drummond told Yahoo Sports “I don’t know how much more of a Caps fan I can get.” Yeah, neither can I.
