For those planning on using Metro to get you to where you need to go during the holidays next week, plan accordingly. There will be some changes to regular service, as well as some scheduled track work.
According to a release, all Metro lines will operate on a regular weekend schedule this weekend (December 21 and 22), although the Greenbelt Station will be closed both of those days. There will be a free bus shuttle service between the Greenbelt and College Park stations. On Christmas Eve, there will be regular weekday service, between 5 a.m. and midnight, but on Christmas Day, Metro trains and buses will operate on a Sunday schedule, with trains running from 7 a.m. until midnight.
The following weekend, the Blue, Orange, and Yellow lines will operate on a regular weekend schedule, while trains on the Red Line will run every 20 minutes. And Green Line trains will run every 20 to 24 minutes to the Greenbelt station only.
On New Year’s Eve, Metro will run until 2 a.m., so you can get your drunk ass home. New Year’s Day it’ll operate on a Sunday schedule, 7 a.m. until midnight.
