Although the Museum of Science Fiction’s current IndieGoGo campaign is still far short of its $160,000 goal (but hey! There’s still 54 days left to donate!), plans are nonetheless underway to make the museum a reality.

Tentatively, the museum is planning to open a preview site in November of next year while they find a suitable location and proper funding for the full museum, which they hope to open in 2017. But the timeline for that isn’t exactly clear, executive director Greg Viggiano told DCist earlier this month.

Yesterday, the Museum released new renderings and plans of what will be in the museum once it’s opened. Spoiler alert: It looks awesome.

Life-sized replicas of famous aliens in pop culture? Yep. A replica of Jules Verne’s home study? Affirmative. A giant reproduction of Wells’ War of the Worlds’ alien tripods? Hell yes!
