Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.)
On Wednesday, many will celebrate Christmas, and the day after others will start celebrating Kwanzaa. And earlier this month, Hannukkah was celebrated by millions across the globe. But for the rest of us*, there’s Festivus—the fictional holiday popularized by George Costanza’s dad on Seinfeld.
Among one of the great Festivus traditions that our culture has proudly embraced: The Airing of the Grievances, wherein one goes on a rant about how awful someone or something is. And today, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)—an apparent Festivus celebrator—took to Twitter to air his grievances with “Washington.” Not the Washington people actually live in, but the one where politicians from other places make decisions that anger the people from other places.
In Washington, “bipartisan deal” is a synonym for “increasing our debt”

One party seems to like some of the Bill of Rights. The other party, some more. Few willing to stand up for the whole thing.

The recent “bipartisan deal” will add 7 trillion more debt. And was hailed as an example of Washington “getting something done.”

Back to the Fed: Congress has the power to coin money and regulate it. An Audit is the least we can do to conduct some oversight.

Obamacare is the untouchable “law of the land” but sequester cuts aren’t

He did, however, have one complaint about actual life in D.C., which he doesn’t need to worry about until March.
Minor grievance: I can never remember when to move my car for DC street cleaning.

And then there’s this. Here’s a recipe, Sen. Paul, if you’re interested.
The Senate cafeteria never has burgoo.

And then he ranted about ties and turtlenecks.
Grievance with my otherwise wonderful staff: leave the turtleneck alone. I like it and so do viewers.

Too many people wearing ties on TV as it is
— Senator Rand Paul (@SenRandPaul) December 23, 2013
“You people” in Washington have a problem with you, Senator! Like how you don’t support “Washington” having voting rights and statehood!
I still have a lot more problems with you people (Washington). I will be back later with more.

Happy Festivus, Rand!
*People who probably celebrate one of those three, but also really like Seinfeld.
