MUSIC: Celebrate the life of the Godfather of Soul at the 5th annual James Brown Death-Mas Holiday Bash at Showtime Lounge (113 Rhode Island Avenue NW) this evening. DJ Soul Call Paul will be “spinning all James Brown, all vinyl, all nite long” in remembrance of the beloved performer who passed away on December 25, 2006. 9 p.m. No cover.

MOVIE: The Black Cat’s (1811 14th Street NW) Drink and a Movie series will pair a holiday feature with $5 seasonal drinks this evening. 8 p.m. Free admission.

BAR: The Star and Shamrock (1341 H Street NE) presents X-Mas Mitzvah III a Chrismahanukkah celebration featuring “food, drink, and simcha.” 11 a.m.

JAZZ: Head to the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) for an All-Star Christmas Day Jazz Jam. Musicians in attendance will include Chuck Redd, Lenny Robinson, James King, and Tom and Delores King Williams. 6 p.m. Free.
