An apartment fire in Cleveland Park early Wednesday morning has left one woman in critical condition.

According to D.C. Fire spokesperson Tim Wilson, firefighters responded to reports of a fire in a third floor apartment in a building on the 3600 block of Connecticut Ave. NW at about 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. WJLA reports that the resident of the apartment, 55-year-old Elsa Zambrano, “fell asleep with food on the stove” of the apartment, but Wilson could not confirm the cause of the fire. The investigation is currently ongoing.

Zambrano was pulled from her apartment and transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She’s currently in critical condition.
