COMEDY: Don’t Block The Boxy Comedy Show—the Wonderland Ballroom’s (1101 Kenyon Street NW) semi-regular comedy and variety show returns tonight with a special Kwanzaa-themed edition. Headlining is musical comedy group Romane & Lettuce, along with comedians Hampton Yount and Haywood Turnispeed Jr. It’s a comedy show, so presumably you’ll laugh, but if you don’t, don’t come complaining to me. $3, starts at 7:30 p.m.

GO-GO: Local music enthusiast Pat Walsh is hosting a go-go DJ night at Marx Cafe (3203 Mount Pleasant Street NW) in Mount Pleasant tonight. Get yer butt over their and cut some rug to Da Butt. Starts at 10 p.m., free.

DR. WHO: Anyone still reeling from Matt Smith’s fond farewell as the notorious Time Lord (or, maybe, celebrating the induction of Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor) should head over to the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) for their Dr. Who happy hour, where they’ll be showing an episode of classic Who, paired with a drink special. Free, starts at 7 p.m.

JAZZ: D.C. native Ben Williams has been taking the jazz world by storm since he won the 2009 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Bass Competition. He has worked with an impressive list of artists that includes Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, George Benson, Pat Metheny, Terrence Blanchard, Roy Hargrove, Benny Golson and Stefon Harris. Williams will bring his own group to Bohemian Caverns on 12/27 and 12/28. 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. sets. Tickets $20 in advance/$25 at the door. —Sriram Gopal
