Update: A Metropolitan Police Department public information officer says Townsend is believed to be deceased from a traffic incident. WJLA reports that she was killed by a driver on the Suitland Parkway. U.S. Park Police could not confirm this information.

An elderly D.C. woman is once again missing, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
A Silver Alert has been issued for 71-year-old Laura Townsend, who was last seen on Thursday, December 26 at approximately 1 pm in the 1800 block of Alabama Avenue SE.
Ms. Townsend is described as a black female, approximately 5’ 7” in height, approximately 120 pounds, short grey dread locks, brown eyes, with a medium complexion. She was last seen wearing a black suede coat, black jogging pants, black gloves, black and white glasses, and a [Washington football team] winter hat. She may be in need of medical attention.
Townsend was still missing as of 10:30 a.m. Friday. She also went missing on December 16, but was located.
