How can you have this historic Sears Roebuck home for free? No, this isn’t a trick question.
As Preservation Arlington reports, architects Paola Lugli and Paola Amodeo are giving away their client’s Wellington model Sears home, built in 1926 and sold for $750,000 in September, for free to avoid bulldozing it.
This gorgeous, sun-filled bungalow has been altered very little since 1926; historic detail and character are abundant, while still keeping a very modern feel. A small screened-in porch as been added to the rear. The home is currently a contributing structure in the Lyon Park National Register Historic District.
It will cost an estimated $50,000 to move the house, located at 3010 7th Street North. Interested parties are asked to contact Lugli (lugli@paolasquare.com) or Amodeo (amodeo@paolasquare.com).
