Metro officials want to hear from you — yes, you! — so they’ve posted an online survey where riders can comment on the proposed fiscal year 2015 budget, which includes possible fare increases, and the Capital Improvement Program.

The survey, which is open until 5 p.m. on February 11, asks takers to rate the importance of escalator maintenance, railcar carpet replacement, a smartphone payment system, customer service training and more. There will also be several public hearings, including one at Metro headquarters on February 6, which will each begin with an information session.

Perhaps the most important question to many riders, the survey asks how fare increases would affect the number of trips they take. Metro has proposed raising the base bus fare to either $1.75 or $1.85 and adding either $.9 or $.12 to the average train trip cost.

Once approved, the budget — and any fare increase — would take effect on July 1. See a list of hearings here.
