Earlier this afternoon, a car went off a dock near the Southwest waterfront and crashed into a boat, sending the vehicle into the water.

A Metropolitan Police Department public information officer says that the accident occurred near the intersection of 9th and Water streets SW, near Maine Avenue, sometime this afternoon. The cause of the accident isn’t yet known and neither is the driver’s condition, the PIO told DCist. Other media outlets have published conflicting reports. We’ll update when we learn more.
