DRAG RACE: RuPaul’s Drag Race is coming to the 9:30 Club with the Battle of the Seasons, featuring Sharon Needles, Ivy Winters, Manila Luzon, Pandora Boxx, Alaska Thunderfuck, Carmen Carrera, Mimi Imfurst, Phi Phi O’Hara, and Michelle Visage. STATEHOOD ADVOCACY: Knowledge Commons DC is hosting a lecture tonight on how to be an effective advocate for D.C. statehood and equal rights. Led by longtime statehood advocate Tim Hampton, the talk will cover “some background on the current state of the voting rights/statehood movement,” before introducing ideas on how D.C. can get closer to equal rights. The lecture will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Library (3160 16th St. NW) at 7 p.m. Free. More info here.

POETRY SLAM: The Dunes (1402 Meridian Pl. NW) is hosting a Beltway Poetry Slam, which will feature poets Joanna Hoffman, Adele Hampton, Angelique Palmer, Ashley Harris, Elizabeth Acevedo, Kristina Byrne, and Sarah Lawson. The winner will be sent as a representative to the Women of the World Poetry Slam in Austin, Tx. in March. $5, starts at 7 p.m.

SAINTSENECA: Columbus, Ohio’s Saintseneca play the kind of heartfelt, delicate folk songs that harkens back to folk’s golden age in the ’60s and ’70s when it meant something. Recently signed to prominent indie-folk label ANTI- Records, the group is playing the Black Cat’s (1811 14th St. NW) back stage tonight with LVL UP and D.C.’s own folk-punk pioneer Spoonboy (of The Max Levine Ensemble). Tickets are $12 and doors are at 8 p.m.
