This is interesting: DeAngelo Hall—a defensive back for the Washington football team since the middle of the 2008 season—said this morning that he thinks his team “probably should” change their name, the Post reports.
Appearing on the Fox Sports show Keepin’ It Real with Mike Hill, when promoted on whether he thinks the team should change their name, Hall said that he “[thinks] eventually they will change it.” He elaborated on his stance saying that “They probably should, but they won’t for a while at least.”
The Post says—and DCist also double-checked to confirm—that Hall is the first current Washington player who has said that they think the team should change their name. The only other player to speak about the controversy is wide receiver Josh Morgan, who grew up in D.C. and lent his support to Snyder’s stance that he’ll “NEVER” change the name.
