President Barack Obama and his family spent part of the afternoon making burritos at the DC Central Kitchen, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary today.

“I just want to thank everybody here for the great work they do,” Obama said, according to the pool report.

At one point, he shouted down the line that they were running out of burritos. He joked that he was “very proud” of Sasha’s technique. He also answered a question about what’s going in the burritos, saying it was either lamb or beef, before settling on beef.

DC Central Kitchen, located at 425 2nd Street NW, prepares 5,000 meals a day for homeless, low-income and at-risk residents of D.C.

Senior advisor Valerie Jarrett joined the First Family, while Vice President Joe Biden served hot lunch with the Catholic Volunteer Network at So Others Might Eat.
