The Southeast Neighborhood Library near Eastern Market will be closed from tomorrow until February 18 due to an irreparable water main service line.

In an email to a neighborhood listserv, D.C. Public Library’s Archie Williams said, “The main water service line from 7th street to the library has deteriorated beyond repair. In addition, water pooling outside of the main entrance damaged the library steps. Water to the Southeast Library will be shut off until the repairs are complete. During the closure, the library steps will also be repaired.”

Residents can visit the Southwest Library (900 Wesley Place SW) and Northeast Library (330 7th Street NE), which reopens on February 3. Holds can be picked up at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library downtown.
