Los Campesinos! has always been bigger than their britches. The Cardiff, Wales-based band has been releasing music since 2007, and with each album the young members mature. With last year’s fifth record No Blues, the six-piece solidified their title as one of the best indie-rock bands of this era. With heavy affection for Pavement’s wordplay and lyrics that can be read as poetry, No Blues is the most fully-formed Los Campesinos! has ever been and also contains some of the band’s catchiest songs since their debut. “Avocado, Baby” is the record’s second single and like most LC! tracks the music and chorus are happy but the lyrics are drenched in sadness.
