Oh, I’m sorry: Are you sick of seeing photos and hearing stories about the rare Snowy Owl sighting in downtown D.C.? Then turn back now, ye who hath lost the wonder in their life.

Reader Brandon Funkhouser, who lives on McPherson Square, said he had been checking throughout the day Thursday for the Snowy Owl, who was first spotted on January 17. At 1:50 a.m., he finally spotted the bird perched on a bench before it flew back to a nearby CVS awning, where it was first photographed earlier this week.

I walked over, where another confused pedestrian said to me “Wait … is that a fucking owl?” I replied “Yes indeed, it’s the famous snowy owl from last night. It made national news.”

So if you want to see the “‘rock star’ of the birding community” in person, you may have to sacrifice some sleep.

Update: Or get out there right now! The owl is currently hanging out near the Washington Post building on 15th and L streets NW.
