A pedestrian was hit by a cab near 10th and U streets NW on Sunday.
Fire and EMS spokesperson Tim Wilson says units were dispatched at 3:50 p.m. and arrived at 3:52 p.m. The pedestrian, identified by the Metropolitan Police Department as an adult female, was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Wilson said. The cab driver stayed on the scene, according to MPD. An investigation is underway.
As photos for the scene show, the driver of the cab crashed through a Metro bus shelter controlled by the city. We’re waiting to hear back from the D.C. Department of Transportation about when it will be replaced.
At least 24 pedestrians and cyclists have been hit by vehicles in D.C. this year, at least two fatally. While we’re still working with city officials to get a fuller look at how many pedestrians and cyclists are hit each week, DCist also needs your help.
