Heads up to anyone who travels along Massachusetts Avenue through Southeast D.C. on their commute home: a portion of the road, between 34th and N streets—alongside Fort Dupont—is closed due to a large sinkhole that’s formed alongside the road.

DDOT spokesman Reggie Sanders confirmed with DCist that the sinkhole has closed the road in that section as it may have actually extended into the roadway. We’ll update when we learn more.
