Today in “yes, really:” A woman in Southeast D.C. received a package in the mail containing thousands of dollars worth of marijuana yesterday.

According to WJLA, the woman—whose identity is being withheld for her protection—received the package yesterday afternoon, and contained thousands of dollars worth of marijuana in bags stored inside several plastic containers. A Metropolitan Police Department public information officer tells DCist that the exact amount of marijuana contained in the package isn’t being released, but that the package weighed more than nine pounds. The woman told WJLA that she was shocked when she opened the package and immediately called the U.S. Postal Inspector and police

The MPD PIO also tells DCist that an adult male has been arrested, and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance in connection to this case.

The woman says the package was sent to her apartment but didn’t have her name on it. Leave it to a pothead to flub the address when sending weed in the mail.
