The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking a male suspect who hit a woman with a car after attempting to sexually assault her.
The assault with intent to commit first degree sexual assault occurred Saturday in the 3100 block of South Dakota Avenue NE around 4:30 a.m. From MPD:
The victim was walking in the area of South Capitol Street and Martin Luther King Jr Avenue SW, when she accepted a ride from an unknown male suspect. The suspect drove the victim to a house in the 3100 block of South Dakota Avenue NE, where he demanded sex. The victim was able to break free and flee. The suspect re-entered his vehicle and then struck the victim with it before making good his escape.
The suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion and bald head in his 40s approximately 5’11” to 6’0” in height. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans, and the vehicle is described as a dark blue or green sedan.
The condition of the woman was not provided.
