As DCist mentioned a couple days ago, Georgetown’s Rhino Bar will host a Philip Seymour Hoffman movie marathon on Sunday. And now, the final schedule has been released. Handpicked by Rhino Bar’s Nick Bernal, Sunday’s all-day celebration of the late screen legend, who tragically died of an apparent heroin overdose last weekend, is as follows:
11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.: A Philip Seymour Hoffman Highlight Reel* (contains clips from many of the movies we won’t be viewing)
Noon to 1:30 p.m.:Charlie Wilson’s War
1:30 to 3:30 p.m.: The Savages or The Master (crowd choice)
3:30 to 4 p.m.: PSH Highlight Reel, Take II
4 to 6 p.m.: Capote
6 to 8 p.m.: Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead or Pirate Radio (crowd choice)
8 to 8:30 p.m.: PSH Highlight Reel, Take III
So come out and celebrate the work of an actor gone too soon, and then go home and watch more Philip Seymour Hoffman—Synecdoche, New York, Boogie Nights, or Almost Famous perhaps. Like I said before, even if it was a bad movie, he managed to make it worth watching.
