D.C. Firefighters have extinguished fires on two boats near the Southeast waterfront.
D.C. Fire spokesman Tim Wilson tells DCist that fire and EMS services were dispatched at 2:39 p.m. to the 1300 block of Water Street SE, where two boats were ablaze. Wilson says that the fire likely started on one boat before spreading to an adjacent one. In addition to trucks, two fire boats were dispatched to tow the two burning ones away from the dock, to keep the fire from spreading onto neighboring boats.
No injuries were reported. Wilson did not have any information as to what could have caused the fires.
