File this under “Why, God? Why?” An abomination called “Doritos Loaded” is being tested at D.C.-area 7-Elevens.
Pulled from a nightmare, Doritos Loaded appears to be breaded Doritos chips stuffed with nacho cheese. Four can be yours for $1.99.
D.C.-based brave soul, The Junk Food Guy, tasted them and determined they are “not great”:
They definitely tasted like nacho cheese, through and through. When there was enough of that orange goo inside, I got plenty of cheese flavor. Paired with the outer salty breading shell, this did remind me of a fried mac and cheese – but a poor representation, at that. I’ve had damn good fried balls of mac and cheese before. These were not good like those.
Obviously, you still have to try it for yourself because you’re a crazy person. But good luck finding them. From ABC News:
Alexia Allina, a spokeswoman for Doritos, was tight-lipped about the new product.
“Doritos Loaded snacks are currently being test-marketed in select stores in the Washington, D.C. area. Our future roll-out plans will be determined based on consumer response,” she said.
According to Kevin Cobb, who ate Doritos Loaded and survived, they are available at the Vermont Avenue and L Street NW 7-Eleven. DCist cannot be held responsible for what you do with that information.
