A lot of you spent part of Friday watching an episode (or 10) from the second season of Netflix’s House of Cards.
Via Procera.According to Procera, a broadband technology firm, nearly 16 percent of the Netflix subscribers on one, unidentified Internet service provider watched at least one episode of House of Cards on the day it was released. That’s up from two percent “on a similar sized network over the entire weekend” last year.
Bad news for haters of binge-watching: It’s happening. By 5:30 p.m. E.T., over 14 hours after HOC went online, 8.6 percent of these Netflix subscribers had watched episode four and 3.6 percent had watched episode five. A brave .1 percent reached episode 11 by that time.
Netflix does not provide numbers on viewers. The company had 40.4 million subscribers globally as of September of last year.
