Photo by Elvert Barnes.PARADE: In honor of Presidents Day, the nation’s largest George Washington Birthday parade will take place in Old Town Alexandria this afternoon, from 1 to 3 p.m. This year’s Parade Grand Marshal is Pamela Cressey, the first City Archeologist of Alexandria. During the parade’s one-mile route, nearly 3,500 participants will march in celebration of George Washington. Free.
PRESIDENTIAL MEET-AND-GREET: No, you won’t get to meet Barack, or any living president for that matter, but you can meet our nation’s 28th President, Woodrow Wilson, at his house in Kalorama Heights today. Head on down for a guided tour all day today and hear Wilson (an impersonator, natch) discuss his time in office and his role as President and then get your picture snapped with him. The museum will be open until 4 p.m. today. The President Woodrow Wilson House is located at 2340 S Street NW.
WHO YOU CALLING SCRUFFY-LOOKING?: As part of Black Cat’s Millennium Falcon Mondays, they’ll be screening Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, arguably the best Star Wars film ever made. Doors at 8 p.m. Free.
MUSIC: Local post-hardcore/math-rock trio Two Inch Astronaut, whose album we listed as one of 2013’s best, plays at The Dunes in Columbia Heights tonight with Great Western Plain from Portland, Mass. and D.C.’s Sunwolf. $10, starts at 8 p.m. The Dunes is located at 1402 Meridian Place NW.
