Chicago’s Into It. Over It. has been making records since 2009. The band is the brain child of singer guitarist Evan Weiss, who had previously been in other groups but broke free and has been putting out releases at a steady speed. Last year the band got their well deserved due with their glorious LP Intersections. Taking cues from artists like Owen, Death Cab for Cutie and Jimmy Eat World, Into It. Over It. is part of the new emo revival, though the band has been around the block way before emo became the hot new sound. The band is on their first headlining tour which stops at DC9 tomorrow night and should not to be missed. “Washington, D.C.” is an older song from the band taken from a split 7″ with Such Gold. The track is more aggressive than much of Intersections, but is catchy and exciting. The track has a rushing guitar line which sound like an homage to the great emo bands from D.C.

Into It. Over It. plays tomorrow night with A Great Big Pile of Leaves, The World is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die and Makeshift Shelters at DC9. Tickets are $12.
