A pedestrian was hit at 9th and H streets NW on Wednesday, while a cyclist was struck at 20th and M streets NW. Today, a pedestrian was hit at First and K streets NW, but an EMS was not required. A pedestrian was hit by a bike rider at 21st and P streets NW. According to a Fire and EMS public information officer, the bike ran through a light into a citizen, who did not require transport. The Metropolitan Police Department is handling the case.
A pedestrian was also hit in the unit block of O Street NW just after 11:30 a.m.
At least 45 pedestrians and cyclists have been hit this year, mainly by drivers of vehicles, at least three fatally. This includes 61-year-old Joseph Brown, who was walking in the roadway of the John Philip Sousa Bridge because, his family says, the sidewalk was covered in snow.
