FILM FESTIVAL: The 24th Washington Jewish Film Festival kicks off at the DCJCC (1529 Sixteenth Street NW) this evening with screenings of The Wonders at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and an opening night reception in between at 8:30 p.m. $25. COMEDY: LYGO DC’s Comics Against Humanity, a “panel show of comics playing Cards Against Humanity… with several twists,” is a monthly event at Bier Baron (1523 22nd Street NW). Comedians Chris Milner, David Coulter, and Jamel Johnson will take the stage tonight and audience members will each receive a white card at the door. 8:30 p.m.-midnight. $10 (includes two free drinks if you register in advance online).

DOCUMENTARY: The Smithsonian American Art Museum (8th and F streets NW) presents Rubén Salazar: Man in the Middle, “a PBS documentary premiere by Phillip Rodriguez that tells the story of the life and death of prominent Civil Rights-era journalist, Rubén Salazar, killed in 1970 by an L.A. County sheriff’s deputy.” Rodriguez will introduce the film and take part in a discussion after the screening. 6:30-7:30 p.m. Free (tickets distributed in the G Street Lobby at 6 p.m.)
