A boil water advisory affecting parts of Northwest D.C. has been lifted, according to DC Water.

Stick your head under the tap: The advisory was put in place on Wednesday after a power outage at the Ft. Reno Pump Station caused pressure loss. Water samples from multiple sites in the impacted area, mainly around Tenleytown, confirmed there is no risk of water contamination.

“This boil water advisory was issued out of an abundance of caution,” DC Water General Manager George S. Hawkins said in a release. “Though we recognized the possibility for contamination was slim, we erred on the side of caution to put our customers’ health and safety first. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience while we took the necessary time to ensure the safety of the water.”
