Today is the start of every car owner’s favorite time of year: Street sweeping season!

Yes, the Department of Public Works will begin the weekly deployment of its street sweepers today, and residents of the District of Columbia will attempt to avoid the dreaded Sweepercam, which can dispense $45 fines like the Terminator can dispense quotable catchphrases. There’s no map DCist can direct you to to show where and when street sweeping takes place. Drivers just need to be very aware of the signage.
