High winds caused thousands of homes in the area to lose power. But it was the temporary loss of electricity to part of one building that grabbed headlines. Yes, the Capitol dome was briefly darkened during last night’s wind storm.
From WJLA:
It happened at about 8:30 p.m. A spokesperson says the high winds caused a power surge, knocking out the exterior lights. Power was restored within 30 minutes.
