While D.C. may technically be experiencing spring at the moment, the cold weather — and impending snow — is sure not making it feel that way. With between 15 to 20 days left until the blossoms on the Tidal Basin cherry trees reach peak bloom, what else can we do but stay inside and watch EarthCam’s live Cherry Blossom camera?

OK, if you insist on going outside, the Cherry Blossom Festival is already underway. According to the National Park Service, florets became visible on the cherry trees on March 23. Peak bloom is still expected to occur between April 8th and 12th.
