TOPS is a lo-fi pop band hailing from Montreal, Quebec. The four-piece started in 2011 and released their debut LP, Tender Opposites, in 2012. Taking cues from ’80s pop music, chillwave, and artists like Ariel Pink, Tender Opposites is a ten song collection of sun-drenched tracks that isn’t afraid of occasionally being covered in cobwebs or caked with a VHS-like blur. Right now, they’re on a short tour, hopefully with some new tunes in tow.

“Evening” is the first track off Tender Opposites and it immediately recalls 2009’s chillwave resurgence, with bedroom synths and hushed vocals to boot. And the accompanying visuals are also a natural visual aid to the band’s sonic tunes.
