Remember Black Eyes? The brief-but-brilliant early-’00s post-hardcore Dischord Records band? They broke up a decade ago but you can relive their incredible final show at the Black Cat thanks to Dischord, who just put up decent quality audio of that final raucous, blistering show.
In the three years the band was around, they put out two terrific, spazzy, all-over-the-place albums—with the latter, 2004’s Cough, incorporating elements of jazz, dub, and noise into one mind-fuck of a record. I never got to see Black Eyes live, but their records hint at just how incredible their live shows must have been. At least I have this stream. Thanks, Dischord.
