The man believed to be with missing eight-year-old girl Relisha Rudd has been added to the FBI’s wanted list, as he’s been charged with the murder of his wife in Prince George’s County and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution by federal officials.
New information emerged today about 51-year-old Kahlil Tatum, who the FBI says should be considered armed and dangerous. Beatriz Otero, the Deputy Mayor of Health and Human Services, told reporters that Tatum posed as a doctor and told school officials Relisha was sick to excuse her absences. The name and number of the doctor was provided by Relisha’s mother, Shamika Young, and grandmother. Relisha was seen at Payne Elementary School as recently as March 7.
A social worker went to D.C. General shelter, where Relisha’s family has lived for over a year, on March 19 to look for a Dr. Tatum only to find he did not exist. Relisha’s mother reportedly refused to approve an Amber Alert.
The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for Relisha’s safe return, as well as $20,000 for information that leads to Tatum’s arrest and indictment. Prince George’s County is offering $25,000 for the latter, as well.
