Via Shutterstock. The city agency tasked with ending discrimination in D.C. will launch a campaign tomorrow to increase the number of gender-neutral bathrooms at businesses.
“Despite regulations requiring all single-stall public bathrooms to be gender-neutral, many business owners and community members remain unaware of this regulation,” a release from the D.C. Office of Human Rights says of the Safe Bathrooms DC campaign. “Yet gender-neutral bathrooms can be critical for some members of the transgender and gender non-conforming community, people with disabilities that have personal assistants of the opposite gender, parents with children of the opposite gender, and others.”
Tomorrow at Casa Ruby, an LGBT community center on Georgia Avenue NW, OHR will unveil awareness ads and a new, expedited reporting method. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. RSVP here.
