Combining two things that a subset of Washingtonians love — coffee and bikes — two local businesses will join forces for “the first true bike shop/coffee shop concept in D.C.”

Via Popville comes the news that The Bike Rack and Filter Coffeehouse will open inside the Monroe Street Market near the Brookland Metro station in Edgewood. The retail portion of the mixed-use development, which will also feature a Busboys and Poets and Meridian Pint location called Brookland Pint, is scheduled to open this fall. Filter and The Bike Rack will occupy a combined 2,546-square-foot space.
