When we posted about the music video and new single from garage-pop band Typefighter back in October, we were told that a full-length album—the first from the quartet—would be dropping…eventually. Well, it’s finally in its way, and here’s a music video for the album’s second single, “You When You’re Older,” which Purevolume premiered earlier today.

Like “Much,” “You When You’re Older” is garage-y power-pop bliss, complete with sugary riffs, melodic hooks, and a dynamic sing-a-along chorus. There’s a lot of heavy stuff singer/guitarist Ryan McLaughlin is singing about—growing older, fucking up, etc.—but you wouldn’t guess it from the song’s bouncy, infectious melodies. It’s sugar-coated heady self-deprecation.

The album, The End of Everything, drops April 22 via D.C. label Huge Witch Records. Typefighter is playing a record release show on May 3 at the Rock and Roll Hotel.
