You survived winter and as a reward spring weather has arrived! And with it Opening Day at Nationals Park. Oh glorious day!

Today at 1:05 p.m., the Nats will take on the Atlanta Braves, officially kicking off baseball season in D.C. (the Nats played their first series against the Mets in New York, of which they won all three games). If you, like so many others, consider Opening Day your own personal holiday and are taking off work to catch the game, here are some things you should know about today’s game:

New Food and Drink Options

As we reported in the past few months, there will be a lot of new food and drink options at Nationals Park this season, most of it local. In addition the numerous local beers you can find—DC Brau, 3 Stars, Port City—Atlas Brew Works has teamed up with the Nats for an exclusive new brew. You’ll also find new munchies like hand-rolled sushi, stir-fry noodles, crab cakes, and new vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Bike to the Game!

For today’s game, Capital Bikeshare will open a temporary docking location for the occasion. The corral will be located at the 1st and N Street SE station from noon to 6 p.m. Bike to the game, it’s going to be nice out today.

Metro Tips

As always, taking the Metro to and from Nationals games is a mess. WMATA has some helpful tips if you plan on taking the Metro. Check ’em out here.

Nats Will Honor Navy Yard Victims Today

To honor the victims and people affected by the tragic shooting at Navy Yard last September, which took the lives of 12 people, four survivors will throw out the first pitch, the AP reports. Additionally, the mother of one of the victims will make the “play ball” announcement and flags will be raised by a Naval commander.
