Local experimental art-rock quartet The Caribbean’s latest album, Moon Sickness, is the kind of breezy, acid-soaked indie rock that’s best digested on a warm spring day, preferably while lounging near an open window. Especially the track “Imitation Air,” which employs a leisurely tempo while melodic guitar riffs and vocals casually surf by. It’s definitely not the kind of track you’d think could be re-mixed as a rug-cutting house jam.
But that’s just what U Street Music Hall owner and DJ Will Eastman made it into. In his remix, which just dropped an hour ago, The Caribbean’s calm, cool track is transformed into a bona fide EDM tune, with the appropriate synth parts and booming bass tracks to boot. Check it out below:
