A shih tzu was taken Tuesday during an armed robbery in Northeast D.C., police say.

The robbery occurred in the area of 49th Street and Central Avenue NE at approximately 11:44 p.m. From a Metropolitan Police Department release:

A male victim was approached by an adult male suspect in a green, four-door vehicle. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded his property. The suspect fled the scene with the victim’s property including a pet dog, a three-year-old Shih Tzu with silver, white, and brown colored fur.

The suspect is described as a black male, dark complexion, approximately 5’0” in height, 125 pounds, and armed with a handgun.
