POETRY: The National Fair Housing Alliance will host a poetry slam at Busboys and Poets (2021 14th Street NW) “to build interest in issues of justice, fairness, and equity.” The top poet will take home a $1,000 prize. 8 to 10 p.m. $5.
THEATER: Theatre Alliance’s Hothouse New Play Reading Series, “an incubator for ideas and new voices in playwriting,” continues with by Liz Maestri’s Sinner Man, a “striking adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray with a “modern, female take on the classic story of the darkness of man.” Mead Theatre Lab at Flashpoint (916 G Street NW), 8 p.m. $5.
MUSIC: Reed Turner, an Austin-based folk/rock/Americana singer-
songwriter, closes out his five-night stay in the D.C. area at the Hill Center at the Old Navy Hospital (921 Pennsylvania Ave SE). Featuring Latin folk-pop artist Gina Chavez. 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. $20.

TUESDAY: DC Brau turns 3. To celebrate, $3 pints of Public, Citizen & Corruption will be offered all night at Meridian Pint (3400 11th Street NW). More than a dozen other DC Brau beers will also be on draft. 5 p.m.
WEDNESDAY: This month’s Corcoran Uncorked (500 17th Street NW) “is all about what’s new, up-and-coming, and innovative” from the “Best & Brightest.” You can tour the gallery’s spring exhibitions and listen to live music performed by three local bands on the rise. But the highlight of the evening will be the performance art from student’s exhibiting in the NEXT at the Corcoran exhibition. 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. $12. Cash bar featuring cocktails prepared by Muse.
THURSDAY: It’s opening night of Filmfest DC, now in its 28th year. “Representing the best in new cinema from around the globe,” the opening night screening will feature The Grand Selection, with special guest Director Don McKellar. A reception in the AMC Mazza Gallerie (5300 Wisconsin Avenue NW) will follow. 7 p.m. $40.
