President Barack Obama will observe a moment of silence today on the first anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing, which left three people dead and hundreds of others injured.
The White House says the president plans to observe the moment during a meeting with senior advisors in the Oval Office that will be closed to the media. The bombing occurred at 2:49 p.m. on this date in 2013.
Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to deliver remarks at a noon ceremony at Boston’s Hynes Convention Center. Church bells throughout the Massachusetts city will ring out at 2:49 p.m.
