WEDDING PLANNING: Fenton Street Market (1610 20th St NW) is hosting their first Indie Bridal Party -“a bridal show with the independent bride in mind.” Instead of spending a Saturday morning at a bridal show, spend an evening with your bridesmaids in a “happy hour setting with drinks, light fare, music and local wedding vendors.” We also have to mention the photo booth. The ticket price includes a goody bag, cocktails and a DIY activity provided by Capitol Romance. 6-10 p.m. $25.

FILM: It’s opening night of Filmfest DC, now in its 28th (and likely final) year. Representing the “best in new cinema from around the globe,” the opening night screening will feature The Grand Selection with special guest Director Don McKellar. A reception in the AMC Mazza Gallerie (5300 Wisconsin Avenue NW) will follow. 7 p.m. $40.

COMEDY: As we wait for Congress to review D.C’s marijuana decriminalization bill, “LYGO DC takes the national drug policy debate a step forward by adding jokes,” teaming up with Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP), Leopold Bros, and Speakeasy Spirits for “Legalize It!” Sean Joyce, Tyler Richardson, Becca Steinhoff, and Herbie Gill perform. Bier Baron Showroom (1523 22nd Street NW). 8:30 -10:30 p.m. $10 at the door.
