The snowy owl unwise enough to come in January to D.C., where she was photographed a lot then hit by a bus, will return to the wild this Saturday.

“The Raptor Center at the University of Minnesota plans to release the owl on Saturday along the northern Minnesota and Wisconsin border,” the Associated Press reports. The owl was first treated at the National Zoo before being transferred to City Wildlife. She then travelled to Minnesota where her damaged feathers were replaced and repaired through a process that involved bamboo.

And now, because I say so, here’s children performing the song “Take These Wings And Learn To Fly.”
