GLUTEN-FREE: The HOUR, a monthly series that celebrates music, art, fashion, and most importantly, gluten-free diets, returns with a collection preview at Willow Fashion (843 Upshur Street NW). One ticket allows entrance for you and a friend, and includes food and beverages (open bar!) by Goldilocks Goodies, Kate Bakes and Omission Beer. 6-8 p.m. $25.
MUSIC: Avers, a Richmond, Va. super band that features members from five other groups, performs at The Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW). 8 p.m. $10 advanced/$12 door.
SHOPPING: StyleCable.com — “D.C.’s coolest new shopping experience featuring unique emerging fashion designers” — invites you to celebrate their launch with a pop-up party that allows you to try on pieces from featured designers in person. VARIETY: The producers of The Capital City Showcase bring The Wonderland Circus back to the The Wonderland Ballroom (1101 Kenyon Street NW). Three comedians, a musician, and a burlesque artist will perform. 8:30 p.m. Free ($5 suggested donation.)
BALLET: The Washington Ballet’s Tour-de-Force: Balanchine!, “a gala-style mixed repertory program that features classical and contemporary ballets, opens today with a preview at the Kennedy Center and runs through Friday. 7:30 p.m. Tickets $45 to $125.
