TEA-TIME: Tea Time DC, “a community fueled collaborative dedicated to merging and promoting small businesses, culinary endeavors and artistic and musical expression,” is back with another event. There is still no tea at this event (as far as we know), but there are cocktails by Firefly’s Aaron Michael Del Giudice (and they are unlimited). Live Bluegrass by Only Lonesome and handmade goods by Rock and Recycle make up the artistic and musical components of this collaboration. Ulysses Room (52 O Street NW) 6:30-10 p.m. $30.

SPRING FLING: This may be more of a “typical” fundraiser, but there are enough fundraisers in D.C. for everyone. This one is for all the Dupont Circle lovers. Presented by Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets, the evening will include music, a buffet, and a silent auction. Washington Hilton (1919 Connecticut Avenue NW) 6-9 p.m. $15 ($20 at the door).

KARAOKE: Be careful what you wish (or pay $10) for. In Capitol Movement’s karaoke competition, hosted by District Karoake, you can pay $10 to make your friend sing, but they then can turn around and pay $10 to make you sing instead. All proceeds benefit Capitol Movement. Acre 121 (1400 Irving Street NW) 6:30-9:30 p.m. $10.

JAZZ: Brad Mehldau has led one of the most acclaimed piano trios of the past two decades. The groups Art of the Trio series is a must-listen. Combining inventive takes on rock and jazz standards alongside creative originals, Mehldau, bassist Larry Grenadier and drummer Jeff Ballard have achieved a cohesion that is both inventive and accessible. The Washington Performing Arts Society presents the trio at Sixth and I Historic Synagogue on Thursday. 8 p.m. Tickets $35. —Sriram Gopal

FUNDRAISER: Casey Trees is debuting the Canopy Awards to celebrate all the work that has been put in to protecting D.C.’s trees. Describing itself as not your typical fundraiser, the night will include food, an open bar, photo booths (kind of typical), bocce and an eight-hole putt course (not so typical). Dock 5 @ Union Market (1309 5th Street NE) 6:30-10 p.m. $45. UPDATE: Sold out. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.
