ROAST: Watch a fake Vincent Gray get roasted in this month’s edition of Capital City Showcase’s DMW Roast. Comedian Haywood Turnipseed, Jr. will serve as the mayor. The Brixton (901 U Street NW) 8 p.m. Free (donations welcome).

MUSIC: Baltimore’s Wye Oak bring their “21st-century folk music” to the 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW) 7 p.m. $22

FILM: Did you know that there are seven web series shot in the D.C. area? Watch them all during the inaugural Tube-Escent. Features episodes about ghosts, zombies, swords, sorcery, recent college grads, and more. Anacostia Arts Center (1231 Good Hope Road SE) 8-9:30 p.m. Free.

THEATRE: Washington Stage Guild presents a staged reading of A Severed Head, a tale of a power struggle between the middle class, as told through a “comedy-drama of love and sex.” Adultery and incest will occur. “Set just before England became Swinging England.” Undercroft Theatre (900 Massachusetts Avenue NW) 7 p.m. Pay what you can.

BEER COCKTAILS: SAVOR week continues at Jack Rose (2007 18th Street NW). Tonight is the Second Annual Beeremix Competition, where craft brewers from Boulevard and 3 Stars will each team up with a Jack Rose mixologist to create a cocktail using their own beer. Sounds too easy right? Oh, but there will be a secret ingredient. The winning cocktail, as chosen by the public, will be available for $5 on the Terrace for the rest of the evening. 6-9 p.m. $15 (ticket price includes two featured cocktails)
