A man was hit and killed by a D.C.-bound Amtrak train in Baltimore late last night, authorities say.

According to an Amtrak spokesperson, Baltimore police responded to a call at about 9:25 p.m. last night that a train had struck a person on the tracks. The man, who has not yet been identified, was hit by the D.C.-bound Vermonter service train about three miles south of Baltimore’s Penn Station. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Amtrak says that their were 135 passengers aboard the train and no one sustained any injuries. The train was delayed about an hour before the passengers were transported to another train.
